冰鄉 sits on Minsheng Road in Tainan's West Central District, its sign reading “since 1976,” its main draw snow ice — in mango season the mango ice is piled like a little mountain, with red-bean pudding milk ice and eight-treasure douhua also popular. One diner said “clean setting, the snow ice is very tasty,” another sharing in detail “the eight-treasure douhua — the douhua and beans creamy, the peanuts crisp-fragrant, the taro balls, glutinous balls, and pearls springy-soft, generous and rich, best cooling with the ice, and the pudding's my favorite too.”
The shop also sells the Tainan-traditional sliced tomato with ginger-soy dip, good alongside the ice to cut the richness. One diner said flatly “a favorite I'll always revisit when in Tainan” — a must-eat ice shop for many.
