東門鴨莊（中正總店）

A siu-mei (Cantonese roast-meat) lunch-box shop that's been in the Dongmen area for 40 years. The crispy roast duck has thin, glossy skin that locks in the juices; the roast pork is cut square with a nice fat-to-lean ratio, and the honey char siu is sweet without being cloying. The lunch-box sides change often, and regulars each have a favorite combination.

Before noon is the peak — even the mayor has queued here. You can add your own fried shallots, a little ritual for regulars. The afternoon is easier for ordering.
