蜂蜜大王 is a small shop on Shengli Road in Hsinchu's North District, its main draw old-method cold drinks — honey tea, honey-lemon, passion-fruit juice — the cups marked “founded in 1966,” the price list running from NT$28 winter-melon tea and herbal tea to a 700cc honey tea at NT$65, a coin-price cooler. One diner said “tasty — NT$60 a cup, a touch light but natural and cooling.”

Lines form now and then at the door, drinks made to order; but one diner reported “a woman with a neck tattoo, just because she couldn't hear me once, loudly went 'Huh?' with an extremely impatient look,” so service reviews are mixed — be prepared before ordering.

Closed Tuesdays; otherwise open daily 10:00am to 10:00pm.
