美好花生 sits in the countryside of Hualien's Fenglin Township, where the peanut soup, peanut soft-serve, peanut latte, and nougat are all made from peanuts the owner grows himself. One diner described the peanut ice cream as “not cloyingly sweet or sticky, a rich peanut flavor — I'd buy it again,” and another said a bowl of peanut soup in summer is “rich and fragrant in every spoonful, lightly sweet and not heavy”; the peanut latte's aroma lingers in many minds, and the gua-bao has a vegetarian version too.
The shop is a converted white metal-sheet building, its floor-to-ceiling windows framing Hualien's fields, with nougat and other gifts sold inside and a small photo exhibit to browse. The owners are warm hosts, and the shop dog is friendly too — a human touch many diners note.
