春虫冰工場 is tucked on Shoufeng Road in Shoufeng, Hualien, its signatures hand-made sorbet and shaved ice, the seasonal-fruit toppings — roselle, mulberry, pineapple jelly — all house-simmered; one diner said “roselle, mulberry, and pineapple jelly really are a perfect trio,” another simply “tasty! the real thing.”

Another noted “the ice is good, you can taste the owner's care — a shame the afternoon was hot and dine-in had no AC, a bit stuffy, and the price is a touch high,” the ingredients honest but priced above a typical shaved-ice shop; it's been featured by the TV show “Super Taste.”

Open daily 11:00am (10:00 on weekends) to 5:00pm, closing early when sold out.
