羊家號羊肉1975 is tucked in an alley off Wenheng 2nd Road in Kaohsiung's Lingya District, a row of red lanterns hung at the stall, its main draw various mutton dishes — satay mutton flash-fried over high heat with vegetables, bone-in mutton soup stewed tender with ginger shreds, plus mutton fried rice and mutton fried noodles. One diner said flatly “this is absolutely the best mutton in Kaohsiung, absolutely.”

The space is bigger than it looks — one diner compiled useful tips: “free soup refills, second-floor seating, both indoor and outdoor seats.” But the serving order draws occasional dispute at peak, one diner reporting “they don't serve in order at all,” so mind that if you're in a hurry.
