郭家粽 sets up in the market on You'ai Street in Tainan's West Central District, its sign reading “founded in Tainan Fucheng in 1948,” its two signatures meat zongzi and cai-zong — the meat zongzi drizzled with savory sauce, the cai-zong dusted with peanut powder and soy paste, alongside a bowl of miso soup with you-tiao and fish crisp. One diner said “I suspect the owner cast a spell on the food,” “oh my god, super tasty,” “insanely good,” another “nostalgic, tasty — feels like a good taste someone passed down.”

The stall sits under the market arcade, wrapped and cooked on the spot, strings of meat zongzi hung out front — a morning-market scene familiar to locals; come at dawn or in the morning to avoid the afternoon closing.

Closed Tuesdays; otherwise open daily from 6:00am (6:30 Sundays) to 3:00pm.
