Halal-certified old Beijing flavors — shao-bing stuffed with freshly sliced braised beef.

Signature dishes

A halal (qingzhen) shop near Dongmen Market. The founder trained under the “four great masters” of Peking opera; now the second generation runs it, still making Beijing-style shao-bing (flaky sesame flatbread) and tang-huo-shao (sweet baked pastry). Bite into the sesame-paste shao-bing and the crust is toasty and fragrant, the layers distinct inside — stuffing it with house-made braised beef is the regulars' ritual.

In summer they make osmanthus sour-plum drink, tart-sweet in just the right balance and perfect with the shao-bing. Closed Fridays; weekend mornings get busy, so avoid the peak if you want to eat at leisure.
