A Michelin Bib Gourmand eatery in the hills of Wanli, New Taipei, opened by three sisters who came home to care for their parents, converting the family's old courtyard. Old photos and worn textbooks still hang on the walls — a restaurant that truly brings the family living room to the table.

The signature “taro mash stir-fried with seasonal greens” comes from the lunchbox dishes of their father — a miner who was also a home cook who loved to cook — steaming the taro trimmings that might otherwise be thrown out, rubbing them into shreds by hand, and quick-frying them with celery. Others like hong-zao eel and braised pork are plain and unadorned yet unmistakably Taiwanese. About a 40-minute drive from Taipei — a hillside meal worth the detour.
